Gent is having the expected result on my school motivation tough! Like tomorrow.. I'll go 2 hours, 2 hours are canceled, 2 hours I'm not going & the last 2 hours I AM! so 2x two hours.. normally Id miss at least one of those 2.. just because.. and long term, I d miss them both bc gent to lede & back = 3 hours transport & waiting & ...... and 3 hours of .. for 2 hours of school is SHIT!

This one is a really soft and was an immediate hit! We both liked him so much we bought it the next day.. We were in a store where they sold it & .. whats the use in waiting, we tought :) So this is the only whisky so far on our shelf, but it most certainly wont stay the only one :)
Old Pulteny 12j
This one was a bit stronger, with a pinch of apple in the taste.. Mini Loved this one, but I didnt really like it.. The least of the 3.. Not my thing!
Caol Ila 11j
This one is a Turf (if we can believe what they tell us there :)) a strong whisky with a salty taste, harbour aromas, .. Something Strong, Something Special, Something you love or hate :) Mini HATES it :) its just too strong, too much of an attack on the senses! Me on the other hand :) I love it! (I even had it yesterday when I passed by with John.. I'll probably buy a bottle of it later on)
Today we went back for seconds and got another selection of three, ranging from mild to turf..
The Balvenie Doublewood 12j
A nice whisky, with an amazingly sweet taste.. Mini described it as .. ehrm .. sweetwood (?is this english?) and she Loved it! To me it turned out to be too sweet! It really was too much, the aftertaste was all sweetness.. but thats taste for ya.. Mini LOVED it :) Now, I have to admit it was a special one.. The aftertaste was one of cherry, because of the second keg its stored in. I was simply amazed when I tasted it! It would certainly be a fav if not for..

About the same story here.. A nice whisky but again.. So Sweet! The bottle tels us that it has almond taste with a honey ending and thats indeed what it is.. But its not my thing.. I dont like my whisky sweet.. Mini on the other hand loved it even more!

This one was a turf, as we were told and as my only point of comparison is the Caol Ila, I can only say its softer. The taste was rich yet not as complicated and heavy. Mini liked it better yet she still didnt like it & I .. kinda missed something. It was nice but I prefer the Caol!
In clicking some links on google I do have to appreciate the place we go to. The first belgian Whisky club.. Its amazing, the amount of whisky they have, but not only that.. Caol Ila, Edradour, .. Everytime it turns out that these very nice single malts are actually quite rare and produced in small quantities only.. Its great to be at a place where one can simply taste these aparently rare whiskies!
So there we are.. These are the ones we tasted & what we tought about it..
and I can surely say that The Glengarry is a GREAT place to meet whiskies!

Movie Time!
Observing older people I knew it was bound to happen.. But its still baffling to see it happen to you.. Growing older, it seems friends grow appart & well.. loose eachother! The only way to keep seeing people regularly is to hide away in some sort of an organisation.. To have a reason to see eachother except .. just because you like eachothers company!
and now, at my 23 and with mostly older friends, its happening.. I know I wont be believed telling this to people or saying this out loud.. Everyone invloved will deny it, but in the end I fear I will be right! I ve seen this happen before in a way & that time I didnt care.. I kept my good friends, still have some people I occasionally talk to and enjoy talking to and others I just .. dont see anymore, and dont worry about it either! But I dont want this to happen with these friends!
Ofcourse everyone has his onw priorities & ofcourse I can understand getting older & needing time for your house / girl / .. and everything else even! But in the end, its just Extremely sad to see it happen & actually understand it happening! And it seems like I'll have a front row seat to it!
And .. you know.. Its my fault for a big part.. I moved to Gent, 30m drive from where we roam.. and without any decent means of transportation.. And I realised this when I took my decision.. But .. I needed my own space & here is the only logical place with school & shite! But even in .. being an active part of the process.. I can still grieve it! Its a pitty & Id like to stop it / not have it happen! But thats just beyond what I can do!

im actually typing this on my linux box :D Using VNC to remote to my box, typing on Bios laptop! Nice Nice Nice. Fullscreened vnc, feels like im ON my box instead of on a windows! I'll just have to figure how to customise this to have it a lot smoother & shite.. Ill start by re customising my E for best VNC behaviour. For example, the "scrolling over the left edge to go to the left desktop" isnt really doable with vnc.. Impossible to stop at the right time! Pitty tough, I LOVE that option!
I saw "Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision" at Kaishi s place.. I was anxious to see it but I have to see Im quite dissapointed with it.. Its not as good as I had expected.. It tought I was using VNX while it was X11vnc
& the later is used to serve existing desktops while the first creates a new virtual one.. No screen = no X11 to serve.. Figures :)

At about 4 I contacted a mate from Volvo & some time later we were to meet eachother @ Korenmarkt for more EVIL shite @ tijuana..
After an evil walk including a near encouter with the cops, some dancing & the thing with the people on the bikes.. we arrived @ The Place
And THATS when we learned shit had gone sour.. Seems that our friends had been assaulted by some guys.. Our close workmate had been taken aback & thrown aganst the wall, head first. Blood all over his face & clothing. Only one of our friends (out of 3) had seen the whole thing and Luckilly it was the one guy that was totally sober. Things were hectic! It took a while for the rush & chaos to subside but after some minutes we were able to contact the police & get the proverbial ball rolling. Our friends told their stories and were able to identify the agressive dunghead that screwed our friend (& evening). Our hurt mate was taken to the hospital where he recieved the much needed care and the 2 other friends left for the police station. As for us.. We could only get in the way of things so we went for a drink..
After several hours we are recieving news that the dingbat was identified by two seperate witnesses (one of our friends & another one the police found some way or another) so all will end in some kind of justice
But in the end.. Is there really any possibility for justice in this case?? I mean, we re talking 'bout an innocent guy here, minding his own bussines and trying to have some fun. Being ripped out of his vibe by some asshole who, for no apparent reason, slams the poor guys head against a wall. Baffled at first, bleading trough fresh headwounds.. This is a bad thing! No one expects to run into this kind of mess, let alone have it happen to him!

Earlier tonight I ate vietnamese.. A very good restaurant, the food and certainly the hunger after eating the horible food made me really feel like I was a starving kid in Vietnam. It wasnt awfull, but I wont be going there anytime soon again. I should have known! Never trust a restaurant barely equipt to handle a group of 10. They even gave me a slight war experience with the exploding plate! It was Horrible, really! I hope I never have to eat there again!

I deleted it in a fit of anger because of iTunes screwing up iPod by deleting All My Musci
this was a while ago & I was Extremely curious what iTunes could do for me and my 20g of music (remember this, 20g, it gets important later on!!)
So there I went, I downloaded it, Reinstalled it & to my utter surprise, my old playlist shite was still on..
lets delete that, I tought so I did :)
I remembered configuring the whole deal to not delete the whole shite again, so I was in the clear!
I took my pod from the docking station as it was playing my newest cds.. Gorillas, System of a Down, ..
It would only take some minutes to see some data on itunes, so after that I could just go on studying..
So, I connected it
Itunes looked kinda surprised at the wad of data presented & I tought for a while it was crashing.. Untill at last, I could see my songs on the iTunes iPod display..
Then it went into almost crashing agan & it all kinda amused me.. the hatefull software having a hard time..
It felt good!
Untill it came on again..
I was already starting to have a bad feeling about it & about the disc acces it was generating..
but so it came on again & .. guess what :)
the iTunes display for my iPod was Empty!
Wtf, I tought.. This is most unexpected, so I went to my pod with the explorer.. quaisy feeling in my stumach..
